Makin Trax has bred its success on attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of what the end-user requires in this specialised industry and a very broad skill-set that provides great flexibility and a creative approach to all situations.

Makin Trax commenced in 2005 through evolution of a business opportunity from a five-year volunteer role building mountain bike tracks at Kowen Forest, Mt Stromlo, Greenhills and Majura Pines amongst others.
The biggest challenge faced to date has been the actual inception of the business. Being a very specialised industry that comprises a large percentage of volunteer work, it was a struggle to just get a start.
Following the 2003 bushfires, the ACT government embarked on a project to create a community facility on the Mt Stromlo site. With the assistance of the local mountain bike club, CORC, in 2006 the ACT government commissioned Glen Jacobs to design and build the initial track network.
Makin Trax, through some serendipitous moments and good timing was then subcontracted to carry out the initial cut of the track network.
Makin Trax has continued to specialise in designing, building, maintaining and remediating mountain bike, walking and multi-use tracks. This includes the design, construction and installation of related products such as bridges, culverts, safety barriers, technical trail features.
Projects have been undertaken at Stromlo Forest Park (including regular track maintenance and remediation, and various building and construction works), Mt Majura, Pine Island, Weston Park and the Cotter.
