So, who are we?

Making world class mountain bike, walking and multi-use tracks:  Our name says it all.  Whether it’s designing and building tracks, digging trenches or transforming your own piece of earth, we have the capacity to construct world class mountain biking and recreational tracks to managing residential excavations; no matter how large or small the project. 

We’re shaping not only world class tracks and trails but best practice for the industry as a whole; particularly in terms of our remediation of land and managing the environment, resources and waste.

Our Track Designing and Building Team is also now complemented by our new Environment Planning and Access Team that provides us with leading-edge capability in creating world class tracks and trails: through environmental scanning; the scoping and analysis and auditing of sites; and quality project management and processes.

This means we bring to a given project and site the expertise of not just our qualified and best credentialed multi-purpose site builders; but also an expert sustainability capability to ensure that while we provide access to land, all projects save resources, reduce waste and protect the land and environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Makin Trax Australia Pty Ltd is a Canberra based company specialising in the design, construction, maintenance and remediation of mountain bike, walking and multi-use track networks.

Since its inception in late 2005, Makin Trax has been involved in some of the most high profile mountain bike track building projects in Australia.

Makin Trax is headed by Darren Stewart, Director. As a qualified plant mechanic, licensed builder, and passionate mountain bike rider, Darren brings well entrenched skills and methodologies to this specialised industry.

We also have on board Anthony Burton, an Environmental Scientist, Urban Planner and Member of the Planning Institute of Australia and Heather Stewart, a Chartered Accountant and Auditor and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.  Both bring to the team professional expertise and advice on site / project planning, scoping assessment and auditing. These two specialists complement the building and operations team, and provide for clients expert assessments on environmental scanning and audits and overall sustainability management.
