Our team and organisational structure:

Darren has bred his success on attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of what the end-user requires in this specialised industry and a very broad skill-set that provides great flexibility and a creative approach to all situations. Darren is a licensed builder with over 20 years of construction and track building experience and has now specialised in designing, building, maintaining and remediating mountain bike, walking and multi-use tracks. This includes the design, construction and installation of related products such as bridges, culverts, and safety barriers, technical trail features. Projects have been undertaken at Stromlo Forest Park (including regular track maintenance and remediation, and various building and construction works), Mt Majura, Pine Island, Weston Park and the Cotter.
Anthony is an Urban Planner and Environmental Scientist and is currently a PhD scholar in Climate Change, Urban Planning and Population Health. Anthony joined the Makin Trax team in 2009 to provide environmental coordination, liaison, management and strategic issues analysis. He maintains a critical link between the Makin Trax team and government and peak bodies; bringing to the company and each project an expert environmental analysis and assessment capability. Anthony undertakes environmental assessments on projects and activities, providing advice with regard to sustainable site construction and access for people with disabilities. He also assists in the development of appropriate tools for the development of cycling, walking and multi-use trails (e.g. Geographic Information System). He is a past president of Canberra Off-Road Cyclists, competition manager for the 2009 UCI World Mountain Bike and Trials Championships, was heavily involved in the development of Stromlo Forest Park and is an avid mountain biking and bush-walking enthusiast.
Matt is a qualified plumber, drainer and gasfitter with over 20 years experience. He has relevant experience in track building and remediation including involvement with Darren on Makin Trax and other job sites. Using his trade qualifications and knowledge of the building industry, Matt also performs general excavation work for the Trenches & Transformations service line. He is also the OHS and First Aid Officer.
Ben is a local, national and international mountain bike identity. Ben is a former Junior downhill mountain bike world champion and on 5 occasions has been selected in the Elite World Championships. Ben is one of the top riders in Australia and is sponsored by Giant. Added to his riding abilities is his profound knowledge and expertise in track building. Ben has a special eye for detail and a top quality finished product. Ben was the architect and builder of the pump track that hosted the unofficial World Pump Track Championships in September 2009.
Heather is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia with specialist internal, external and forensic auditing experience. She oversees budgeting, auditing and report writing processes and manages the office administration function.
Bernie is a landscape and skate park designer who has worked for Redbox Designs. Bernie has been working for over 20 years in the landscaping and horticulture industries.
He has a degree in Industrial Design and is an accomplished CAD operator.
